I’m so excited to share that I have a new pattern out this week – the Fragrant Shawl! This pattern was a long time in the making (if you follow me on Instagram you might remember that I knit the sample twice!!) but good things are worth waiting for, right? 🙂 I wanted something with two-colour garter stitch for relaxation and fun, but with pops of something different. This little flower stitch was the perfect addition – it looks fantastic, is really easy to do, and in the end inspired the name of the shawl too!
This pattern was a lot of fun for me as it’s my first asymmetrical shawl, and I opted for a long, skinny shape that allows for so many different styling options. As the weather starts to warm up it will provide just the right amount of comfort to your outfit, without smothering you in wool. You can wrap it once around your neck and let the ends drape, double wrap the longest end for a kerchief style look, or have fun with knotting and moving the apex of the triangle to different sides. Check out the project pages of my lovely test knitters for more ideas!
Kerchief style is my favourite! 🙂
I also fell in love with this colour combination while knitting the shawl, so much so that I knit both samples exactly the same. The yarn is hand dyed here in Australia by the amazing Kelly of Miss Click Clack, and I used her awesome Merri Creek sock base. It’s a fabulous yarn that can be used for just about any item of knitwear – soft, non-pilling (in my experience) and oh so squishy. And just look at that pink!! (it’s called Hula Hoop). I think I’ll be experimenting more with pink and grey combinations in the future…
The shawl in full!
To celebrate the release I’m offering a special 20% off the pattern with the coupon code CLICKCLACK. You’ll have to be quick though because it expires at midnight on Friday 31st March Adelaide time! Check it out on Ravelry today 🙂
